On Her Last Walk

She took her last walk on 10 February 2022. According to our customs we take the body to give them a last tour of the village, then to the fields, then to the last point at Rajghat on the banks of the Ganges. If it were a man's body there would have been no colour, just white. Since it is a woman, even a widow deserves colour on her last walk.
"My journey as a photographer began there," Tapesh Sharma wrote. The first showing from the residency: frames that had never been seen, on the studio walls for three afternoons. Strictly no photography inside.
